Production Area
The production area of Trebbiano d’Abruzzo PDO is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the provinces of Chieti, L’Aquila, Pescara and Teramo, in the Abruzzo region.
Blends
White (including Superiore and Riserva): max. 85% Trebbiano Abruzzese and/or Bombino Bianco and/or Trebbiano Toscano, pure or with the addition of non-aromatic grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%.
Description of product typologies
Trebbiano d’Abruzzo PDO has an intense straw-yellow colour; the nose is characterised by intense and delicate fragrances; it is sapid, velvety and harmonious on the palate. It can display Superiore on the label and Riserva if the wine has been aged/matured for a mandatory period of at least 18 months; the aging/maturing period commences November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced.Trebbiano d’Abruzzo PDO White wines cannot be made available for consumption before January first of the year following that in which the grapes were produced; Trebbiano d’Abruzzo PDO Superiore wines can be put on the market from March 1st of the same year. Trebbiano d’Abruzzo PDO Riserva wines can be made available for consumption from May 1st of the second year following that of the grape harvest.
