The production area of Tintilia del Molise PDO is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the provinces of Campobasso and Isernia, in the Molise region.
Blends
Red, Rosé: min. 95% Tintilia, pure or with the addition of non-aromatic grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 5%.
Description of product typologies
Tintilia del Molise PDO Rosso has an intense and vivid ruby-red colour with purple highlights; the nose offers very strong sensations of black cherry, plum and blackcurrant, which alternate with fragrances of spices and aromatic herbs; the palate reveals an extremely ample structure, with balanced tannins and a long and persistent fruity finish. It can display Riserva on the label if the wine has been aged for a mandatory period of 2 years, commencing November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced. Tintilia del Molise PDO Rosé is pink in colour, varying in intensity; the nose offers fresh fruity notes with the sweetness of white peach accompanied by vegetal hints; it is balanced and fruity on the palate.The vinification and aging processes of Tintilia del Molise PDO wines must take place within the production area.All typologies of Tintilia del Molise PDO wines must indicate the year in which the grapes were produced on the label.
