The production area of Sillaro PGI or Bianco del Sillaro PGI is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the provinces of Bologna, Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna and Rimini, in the Emilia-Romagna region.
White (including Semi-Sparkling), Novello: a minimum of 70% Albana, pure or with the addition of non-aromatic grapes originating from other grape varieties similar colour and suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, maximum 30%.
Description of product typologies
Sillaro PGI or Bianco del Sillaro PGI Bianco wine has a straw-yellow colour; the nose is intense and ample, generally with fruity fragrances and hints of white peach, green apple, Williams pear, yellow daisies and broom; it is warm on the palate, with a sweet to dry flavour, embracing and fairly smooth on the palate, supported by a pleasant freshness and with good structure and extremely long persistence.Sillaro PGI or Bianco del Sillaro PGI Novello wine is straw-yellow in colour; the nose is moderately intense and fruity, with hints of apricot and exotic fruit; it is sapid and pleasantly smooth on the palate. Sillaro PGI or Bianco del Sillaro PGI wines can be produced as Semi-Sparkling wine on the condition that it is not obtained through artificial gasification.
