Description of product typologies
Sardegna Semidano PDO Bianco is straw-yellow in colour with golden highlights; the nose offers delicate fruity and characteristic fragrances, with floral sensations and a background of herby notes; it is smooth, sapid, fresh and embracing on the palate, with good structure and well-defined acidity. It can display Superiore on the label.Sardegna Semidano PDO Spumante has a straw-yellow colour with reflectionsthat tend towards green, and a fine and persistent perlage; the nose is characteristic and delicate, with elegant floral notes and hints of yeast; it is sapid, fresh, dry, medium-sweet or sweet and slightly aromatic on the palate. Sardegna Semidano PDO Passito has an intense yellow- gold colour; the characteristics of the nose render this wine ethereal, with evident notes of ripe and fleshy fruit and hints of croissant; it is sweet, full and honey-like on the palate, with persistent and pleasing finish. Grapes destined for the production of Sardegna Semidano PDO Passito must have been dried naturally on the vines or on trellises.

The Sardegna Semidano PDO may be accompanied by the sub-geographical designation: Sardegna Semidano PDO Mogoro which incorporates the entire territory of the municipalities of Baressa, Gonnoscodina, Gonnostramatza, Masullas, Mogoro, Pompu, Simala, Siris and Uras in the Province of Oristano, and Sardara and Villanovaforru in the Province of Medio Campidano.The sub-designation is reserved exclusively for White wine that has a straw-yellow colour with golden highlights; the nose is fruity and pleasantly intense and persistent; it is sapid and well-balanced on the palate, with an acid backbone that determines the freshness of this wine which has a characteristic finish. Sardegna Semidano PDO Mogoro wine is produced with the same grapes as Sardegna Semidano PDO (see Blends).
