San Colombano al Lambro PDO or San Colombano PDO Bianco is straw-yellow in colour, varying in intensity; the nose bursts with floral and fruity notes; it is pleasantly dry and displays fresh acidity on the palate, and is balanced and at times medium-sweet. It can also be produced as Semi-Sparkling wine and can mention Vigna (vineyard) on the label.San Colombano al Lambro PDO or San Colombano PDO Rosso has an intense ruby-red colour with garnet highlights; the nose displays ample, complex and spicy fragrances, such as ripe red fruit, vanilla and almond; the palate displays significant structure and is slightly astringent with long persistence. It can also be produced as Semi-Sparkling wine and can mention Vigna (vineyard) or Vigna Riserva on the label.San Colombano al Lambro PDO or San Colombano PDO Bianco wine with the mention Vigna followed by the relative toponym, can also be aged in wooden recipients and can be released for consumption after it has matured for at least 3 months in bottles, commencing the date of bottling. San Colombano al Lambro PDO or San Colombano PDO Rosso wine with the mention Vigna followed by the relative toponym, can also be aged in wooden recipients and can be released for consumption from September 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were produced, after having being matured in bottles for at least 3 months; if the wine is put on the market after a mandatory ageing period of at least 24 months, commencing November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced, the wine may mention Riserva on the label.
