Description of product typologies
Rosso di Cerignola PDO is a fairly intense ruby-red colour, tending towards brick-red with ageing; the nose offers moderately intense and persistent aromas, with hints of ripe red fruit and balsamic notes of brushwood; it is dry, warm, fairly smooth, sapid and pleasantly tannic on the palate, with good body. It can display Riserva on the label if the wine is made from grapes with a minimum total alcohol level of 12.5% vol. and has been aged for at least 2 years in wooden barrels; the ageing period commences November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced.
