The production area of Rosso Cònero PDO is within the entire territory of the municipalities of Ancona, Offagna, Camerano, Sirolo Numana, and parts of the municipalities of Castelfidardo and Osimo in the Province of Ancona, in The Marches region.
Description of product typologies
Rosso Cònero PDO is intense, impenetrable ruby red with evident purplish hues; the nose offers evident fragrances of wild cherry, prune, blackcurrant, blackberry, mulberry and other berries, with hints of liquorice, leather and tobacco and spicy, minerally notes; the predominant fruity aromas return on the palate, with evident tannins and a finish reminiscent of black cherry and dried fig. Grapes destined for the vinification of Rosso Cònero PDO wines must ensure a minimum natural alcohol level of 11.5% vol. The vinification processes of Rosso Cònero PDO wines must be carried out within the production area and in the localities of Barcaglione and Guastuglia, which are part of the municipality of Falconara Marittima, in the Province of Ancona.
