The production area of Ronchi Varesini PGI is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the Province of Varese, in the Lombardy region.
Blends
White (including Semi-Sparkling) wines with the Ronchi Varesini PGI must be obtained from grapes originating from vineyard compounds, in a business environment, from one or more non-aromatic white grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area. Red, Rosé: min. 60%, individually or combined, Barbera, Merlot, Nebbiolo, Croatina; the above-mentioned musts and wines can also be produced with the addition of grapes originating from other grape varieties similar in colour and suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 40% pure or combined.
Description of product typologies
Ronchi Varesini PGI Bianco is straw-yellow in colour; the nose offers intense fragrances of white fleshy fruit and wild flowers; it is typical, dry and sapid on the palate, with fleshy and persistent undertones. It can also be produced as Semi-Sparkling wine. Ronchi Varesini PGI Rosso is ruby-red in colour, varying in intensity; the nose displays complex fragrances ranging from intense fruitiness to herbs and spices; the fruity notes deepen on the palate and are enriched by sweet spices, pepper and cocoa which lead to a long and persistent finish. Ronchi Varesini PGI Rosé has a vivid pink colour; the nose offers ample fragrances of fruit and flowers; it is typical, characteristic and dry on the palate, with a fruitiness that can vary in intensity.
