The production area of Epomeo PGI is within the entire territory of the municipalities of the island of Ischia, in the Province of Naples, in the Campania region.
Blends
White, red and rosé wines with the Epomeo PGI must be obtained from grapes originating from vineyards, in a business environment, with one or more red/white grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area.
Description of product typologies
Epomeo PGI Bianco is straw-yellow in colour, varying in depth; the nose displays various floral and fruity fragrances depending on the grape variety used; it is dry and fresh on the palate, with a slightly fruity flavour and good persistence. It can also be Semi-Sparkling or Semi-Sweet wine. Epomeo PGI Rosso is ruby-red in colour, varying in intensity; the nose is delicate, with characteristic fragrances of red fruit, hints of spices and aromatic herbs and complexity deriving from the various grape varieties used; it is dry and sapid on the palate, with good body. It can also be Semi-Sparkling and Semi-Sweet wine. Epomeo PGI Rosé is pink in colour, varying in intensity; it displays delicate fruity fragrances on the nose; it is dry, harmonious and fresh on the palate, with the characteristics of the grape varieties of origin. It can also be Semi-Sparkling or Semi-Sweet wine. Epomeo PGI Passito Bianco is intense yellow to golden yellow in colour; the nose offers intense fragrances with fruity and floral notes; it is sweet and polished on the palate, with dense flavours of yellow flowers and a honey-sweet finish. Epomeo PGI Passito Rosso has an intense red colour; the nose displays decisive fragrances, with floral sensations and hints of fresh and dry fruit; it is harmonious, well-structured and semi-sweet or sweet on the palate, with intense flavours of ripe cherry, marasca and blackcurrant.
