The delle Venezie PDO (“Beneških okolišev” in Slovenian) is reserved for the following types of wine: White; Semi-Sparkling, Spumante (only with indication of grape variety); “Pinot grigio” (grape variety specification).
Production Area
The production area of delle Venezie PDO is within the entire territory of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and the Veneto region.
Blends
White: min. 50%, individually or combined, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Muller Thurgau, Garganega, Verduzzo (from Verduzzo Friulano and/or Verduzzo Trevigiano) and Tocai Friulano, pure or with the addition of un-aromatic grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 50%.
Description of product typologies
The delle Venezie PDO Bianco varies from greenish to golden yellow in colour; the nose is intense, slightly aromatic, with fruity notes; it is dry and harmonious on the palate. The delle Venezie PDO Pinot Grigio Frizzante is straw-yellow in colour, tending towards golden and at times coppery or pink, with light, evanescent foam; the nose is fruity and slightly aromatic; it is fresh, harmonious and dry or at times medium-sweet on the palate. The delle Venezie PDO Pinot Grigio Spumante is straw or golden yellow in colour, tending towards coppery or pink, with a fine and persistent perlage; it is fruity, intense and aromatic on the nose; it is fresh on the palate and harmonious in the typologies ranging from Dosaggio Zero to Dry.

The delle Venezie PDO may display the specifications of the following grape varieties. From white grape varieties: “Pinot Grigio” (incl. Frizzante and Spumante) min. 85% Pinot Grigio, pure or with the addition of grapes originating from the Pinot Bianco, Muller Thurgau, Garganega, Verduzzo (from Verduzzo Friulano and/or Verduzzo Trevigiano) and Tocai Friulano grape varieties, max.15%. The delle Venezie PDO Pinot Grigio is straw-yellow in colour, tending towards golden yellow and at times coppery or even pink; the nose is intense and fruity, slightly aromatic; it is fresh and dry or medium-sweet on the palate.
