White, red and rosé wines with the Colline Pescaresi PGI must be obtained from grapes originating from vineyards, in a business environment, with one or more red/white grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area.
Description of product typologies
Colline Pescaresi PGI Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is straw-yellow in colour, varying in depth; in the more structured wines, the nose’s fruity and floral notes are accompanied by buttery and sweet tones; sapidity and freshness dominate on the palate. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine. Colline Pescaresi PGI Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is ruby-red in colour, varying in intensity; the nose offers tones of fruits of the forest which are supported by good minerality; the palate is fresh and structured with fruity reminiscences. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine. Colline Pescaresi PGI Rosé, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pink in colour, varying in intensity; the nose displays delicate fragrances of fresh fruit and aromatic herbs; it is dry, harmonious and fresh on the palate. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine. Colline Pescaresi PGI Passito Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is yellow in colour, tending towards amber with aging; the nose is rich with intense fruity notes; it is dry and sapid on the palate, with the characteristics of the grape varieties used. Colline Pescaresi PGI Passito Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is red to garnet in colour, varying in intensity; its fragrance is intense and characteristic of the grape variety; on the palate it is harmonious, sweet and velvety.Colline Pescaresi PGI Novello Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is ruby-red colour, with slight purplish highlights; the nose is rich with fruity notes; it is fresh and velvety on the palate.Colline Pescaresi PGI Novello Rosé, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pink in colour, varying in intensity; the nose is delicately fruity; it is fresh and velvety on the palate, with intense notes of red fruit.
Grape variety specifications
The Colline Pescaresi PGI, with the specification of one of the grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the Abruzzo region, is reserved for wines that are obtained from grapes originating from vineyard compounds, in a business environment, for at least 85% of the corresponding grape variety. Grapes similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%, can contribute, pure or combined, to the production of the above-mentioned musts and wines. The Colline Pescaresi PGI with two grape variety specifications is reserved for wines obtained from corresponding grapes originating from vineyard compounds, in a business environment, on the condition that the wine derives exclusively from the indicated grapes, and that the quantity of grapes produced by each of the two is higher than 15% of the total. The grape varieties must be indicated on the label in descending order, in respect to the actual contribution of the grape. Colline Pescaresi PGI wines with specification of grape variety must display the organoleptic properties of the grape variety, as well as the indicated characteristics for the typology of wine.
