Production Area
The production area of Bosco Eliceo PDO is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the provinces of Ferrara and Ravenna, in the Emilia-Romagna region.
Blends
White (including Semi-Sparkling): min. 70% Trebbiano Romagnolo, max. 30%, pure or combined, Sauvignon, Malvasia Bianca di Candia, with the addition of grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 5%.
Description of product typologies
Bosco Eliceo PDO Bianco is pale straw-yellow in colour; it offers a delicate and pleasing fragrance on the nose, with hints of flowers and white fleshy fruit; on the palate it is dry or supple and pleasantly harmonious. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine. Bosco Eliceo PDO Rosso with indication of grape variety has the organoleptic characteristics typical of the grapes and terroir of origin. Vinification must be carried within the production area, although, taking into consideration traditional situations, these operations may take place within the entire territory of the provinces of Ferrara and Ravenna.
Grape variety specifications
The Bosco Eliceo PDO may display the specifications of the following grape varieties. From white grape varieties: min. 85% Sauvignon, max. 15% Trebbiano Romagnolo.From red grape varieties: min. 85% Fortana (including Sparkling), Merlot, pure or with the addition of grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%.The characteristics of the colour, fragrances and flavour of each specification are those typical of the grape variety and terroir of origin.
