The production area of Bardolino Superiore PDO is within the territory of the numerous municipalities in the Province of Verona, in the Veneto region.
Blends
Red, (incl. Classico): 35-80% Corvina Veronese (Cruina or Corvina) - it is permitted to replace an equal percentage of Corvina with Corvinone, max. 20% - 10-40% Rondinella, max. 15% Molinara, pure or with the addition of non-aromatic grape berries of a similar colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 20%, with a maximum of 10% for each single grape variety.
Description of product typologies
Bardolino Superiore PDO has a colour that ranges from various shades of crimson in young wines, which tend to lighten with aging; young wines are characterised by herbaceous, floral or fruity sensations, which assume a more complex aroma if aged in bottles, while aged wines tend to display fragrances of vanilla, spices and tar on the nose; young wines are characteristically full-bodied on the palate, while aged wines tend to be smoother and more balanced. Classico can be displayed on the label.
