Grape variety specifications
The Arborea PDO or Sardegna Arborea PDO may display the following grape variety specifications. From white grape varieties (incl. Semi-Sparkling): min. 85%: Trebbiano Romagnolo and/or Toscano, pure or with the addition of similarly-coloured grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. From red grape varieties (incl. Rosé): min. 85%: Sangiovese, pure or with the addition of similarly-coloured grapes originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. Arborea PDO or Sardegna Arborea PDO Trebbiano is straw-yellow in colour, often with greenish reflections; the fragrance is mild and delicate; it is dry and fresh on the palate, slightly acidulous and harmonious. It can also be presented as Natural Semi-Sparkling wine and Amabile (sweetish) can be displayed on the label.Arborea PDO or Sardegna Arborea PDO Sangiovese is ruby-red in colour; it displays an intense fragrance of ripe red fruit on the nose; it is dry, smooth, fresh and aromatic on the palate.Arborea PDO or Sardegna Arborea PDO Sangiovese Rosé is pink to cherry-pink in colour; it has a delicate floral-fruity fragrance; it is dry, harmonious, sapid and fresh on the palate.
