Production Area
The production area of Colli Lanuvini PDO is within the entire territory of the municipality of Genzano and parts of the Municipality of Lanuvio, in the Province of Rome, in the Lazio region.
Description of product typologies
Colli Lanuvini PDO Bianco is straw-yellow to golden yellow; the nose displays a wide array of fragrances ranging from exotic fruit to moss and biscuit; it is fresh and creamy on the palate, rich with aromatic herbs. It can display Superiore on the label. Colli Lanuvini PDO Rosso is intense ruby red; the fragrance is supported by jammy tones of blackberry and blueberry on a background of aromatic woody spices; the palate displays good structure, with sweet tannins and a persistent finish. It can display Superiore and Riserva on the label if the wine has undergone an ageing period of at least 24 months, commencing the first November after the grapes were produced, at least 6 of which must be in the bottle, and has a minimum alcohol level of 13% vol. Colli Lanuvini PDO Spumante is straw-yellow, varying in intensity, with a fine and persistent perlage; the nose is pleasant and elegant, with yeasty notes; it is dry, medium-sweet, semi-sweet or sweet, depending on the typology, always sapid, velvety and harmonious with good body.
