Blends
White, Spumante, Passito, Liqueur: Moscato Bianco, pure or with the addition of grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 10%. For Spumante this percentage must be made up exclusively from grapes originating from aromatic white grape varieties.
Description of product typologies
Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Bianco is straw-yellow in colour tending towards golden with aging; the nose offers varietal typical fragrances of tropical fruit, with floral notes and sensations of sage and aromatic herbs; it is fresh, dense and delicately sweet on the palate, with a long finish. Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Spumante has is straw-yellow in colour with fine and effervescent foam; the nose is aromatic, rich with aromas of fruit and acacia and has a vanillery finish; it is delicate and sweet on the palate, with intense aromas of fruit and aromatic herbs. Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Passito is golden yellow in colour; the nose is ethereal and displays intense notes of ripe fruit; the sensation of ripe fruit becomes palpable on the palate, blending with pleasantly embracing aromas of honey, almond and flowers. Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Liquoroso is golden yellow in colour; the nose displays complex fragrances, with wafts of fruit, caramel notes and hints of Mediterranean Broom; it is complex, balanced and extremely expressive on the palate, with warm and embracing notes of Muscat. The use of must or base wine concentrations to increase the total alcohol level is not permitted in the production of any of the Moscato di Sorso-Sennori or Moscato di Sorso or Moscato di Sennori PDO wines; partial dehydration of the grapes on the vines or on frames, with the aid of ventilated air, forced ventilation or special thermo-conditioned environments, is allowed. Alcohol of viticultural origin can be added to the must or base wine in the preparation of Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Liquoroso wine.Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Bianco wine cannot be made available for consumption before March 1st of the year following that in which the grapes were produced; Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Spumante can be put on the market after November 1st of the year in which the grapes were produced, while for Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Passito and Moscato di Sorso-Sennori PDO or Moscato di Sorso PDO or Moscato di Sennori PDO Liquoroso wine the date is June 1st of the year following that of the grape harvest.
