Blends
White, red and rosé wines with the Marca Trevigiana PGI must be obtained from grapes originating from vineyards, in a business environment, with one or more red/white grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area.
Description of product typologies
Marca Trevigiana PGI Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is straw-yellow in colour, varying in depth; the nose varies from delicate to intense; it is semi-sweet or dry on the palate, harmonious and, depending on the characteristics of the grape variety and the ripeness of the grapes, the wine can also have good structure and sapidity with a fresh and lively finish. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine. Marca Trevigiana PGI Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, varies from pale red to ruby-red in colour, at times tending toward garnet; the nose is characteristic of the grape variety, with fragrances that at times can be intense; the palate offers notes that range from semi-sweet to dry and intense, also displaying suitable sapidity in relation to the variety. It can also be Semi-Sparkling and Novello wine. Marca Trevigiana PGI Rosé, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pink in colour, varying in intensity; it displays delicate fruity fragrances on the nose; it is dry, harmonious and fresh on the palate, with the characteristics of the grape varieties of origin. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine.
Grape variety specifications
The Marca Trevigiana PGI with the specification of one of the grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the Province of Treviso, is reserved for wines that are obtained from grapes originating from vineyard compounds, in a business environment, for at least 85% of the corresponding grape variety. The addition of grapes from the CabernetFranc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère grape varieties is permitted, individually or combined, in the preparation of the Cabernet wine. Grapes similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%, can contribute, pure or combined, to the production of the above-mentioned musts and wines. Marca Trevigiana PGI wines with the specification of one or two of the grape varieties can also be produced as Semi-Sparkling wines; only wines deriving from red grape varieties can be used in the production of Novello. Marca Trevigiana PGI wines with specification of grape variety must display the organoleptic properties of the grape variety, as well as the indicated characteristics for the typology of wine.
