The production area of Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the Province of Modena, in the Emilia- Romagna region.

Blends

Red (Semi-Sparkling), Rosé (Semi-Sparkling), Red Spumante, Spumante Rosé: min. 85% Lambrusco Salamino, with the possible addition of other Lambrusco, Ancellotta and Fortana (locally known as Uva d’Oro) grapes, individually or combined, max. 15%.

Description of product typologies

Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Rosso Frizzante is deep ruby-red in colour with purple-edged foam; the nose displays fruits of the forest and flowers; it is lively, fruity, clean and pleasantly acidulous on the palate. Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Rosato Frizzante is pink in colour, varying in intensity and with lively foam; the nose is characteristic and pleasingly fruity; it is dry, medium-sweet or medium-dry, semi-sweet or sweet on the palate, and rich with sapidity and freshness.Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Spumante Rosso is ruby-red or garnet in colour, varying in intensity and with lively and sparkling foam; the nose is ample, complex and rich with floral notes; it is dry, medium-sweet or medium-dry, semi-sweet or sweet on the palate, and rich with sapidity and freshness.Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Spumante Rosatp is pink in colour, varying intensity and with lively and sparkling foam; the nose is pleasing, fine, ample and rich with floral notes; it is dry, medium-sweet or medium-dry, semi-sweet or sweet on the palate, with notes of sapidity and freshness.Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Spumante and Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Frizzante wines must be obtained by natural fermentation/secondary fermentation in bottles or natural fermentation/secondary fermentation in autoclaves. The vinification and preparation of sparkling and semi-sparkling wines must take place within the territory of the Province of Modena.

It is mandatory for Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Frizzante and Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Spumante wines to display the residual sugar content on the label.Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Frizzante and Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce PDO Spumante rosé wines must display “Rosato” on the label.
