The production area of Garda Colli Mantovani PDO is within the territory of the municipalities of Castiglione delle Stiviere, Cavriana, Monzambano, Ponti sul Mincio, Solferino and Volta Mantovana in the Province of Mantua, in the Lombardy region.

White: max. 35% Garganega, max. 35% TrebbianoToscano (from Soave or Nostrano and/or Giallo), pure or with the addition of grape berries originating from the Sauvignon and/or Riesling Renano and/or Riesling Italico grape varieties, max. 15%.Red, Rosé: max. 45% Merlot, max. 40% Rondinella, max. 20% Cabernet, pure or with the addition of grape berries originating from the Sangiovese and/or Molinara (locally known as Rossanella) and/or Negrara Trentina grape varieties, max. 15%.
Description of product typologies
Garda Colli Mantovani PDO Bianco has an extremely luminous straw-yellow in colour; the nose displays floral notes which introduce fragrances of peach, apple and apricot alongside dense minerality; it is fresh and sapid on the palate, with traces of balsamic and aromatic herbs. Garda Colli Mantovani PDO Rosso has a ruby-red colour which tends towards cherry-red with aging; it is full and rich with ripe fruit and fruits of the forest on the nose, followed by a mineral note, hazelnut and chocolate; the palate is rounded and balanced, with thin tannins. Garda Colli Mantovani PDO Rosé is bright pink in colour; the delicate and fruity nose is reminiscent of citrus fruit, especially citron; it is smooth and fresh on the palate, with almondy notes.

The Garda Colli Mantovani PDO may display the specifications of the following grape varieties. From white grape varieties: min. 85% Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, pure or with the addition of grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%.From red grape varieties (incl. Riserva): min. 85% Cabernet (Franc and/or Sauvignon), Merlot, pure or with the addition of non-aromatic grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%.The characteristics of the colour, fragrances and flavour of each specification are those typical of the grape variety and terroir of origin.
