The production area of Dogliani PDO is within the entire territory of the municipalities of Bastia Mondovì, Belvedere Langhe, Briaglia, Castellino Tanaro, Ciglie’, Clavesana, Dogliani, Farigliano, Igliano, Marsaglia, Monchiero, Niella Tanaro, Piozzo, Rocca Ciglie’, and parts of the municipalities of Carrù, Mondovì, Murazzano, Roddino, S. Michele Mondovì, Somano and Vicoforte, in the Province of Cuneo, in the Piedmont region.

Description of product typologies

Dogliani Protected Designation of Origin wine is ruby-red in colour; the nose offers fragrances of rose petals and ripe fruit, especially cherry, marasca and prune, with spicy hints; it is dry on the palate, with immediate freshness, balanced tannins and a cherry finish. It can display Superiore on the label if the wine has undergone a mandatory aging period of at least 12 months, commencing October 15th of the year in which the grapes were picked. Dogliani PDO Superiore wines can be made available for consumption from November 1st of the year following the grape harvest.The vinification processes of Dogliani PDO wines, including Superiore, must be carried out within the Province of Cuneo; however, taking traditional situations into consideration, these operations may also be carried out within the territory of the Province of Savona.
