White, red and rosé wines with the Conselvano PGI must be obtained from grapes originating from vineyards, in a business environment, with one or more red/white grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area.
Description of product typologies
Conselvano PGI Bianco, alone or with specification of grape variety, is characterised by the complexity of its fragrances and has a colour that varies from white/pale yellow with greenish reflections to deep yellow; the nose offers delicate fruity and floral notes that are accompanied by smooth and sweet tones in the more structured wines; the fruity palate creates freshness and sapidity. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine.Conselvano PGI Rosso, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pale ruby-red to garnet red in colour, with purplish reflections; the nose can offer extremely elegant fragrances which express the distinctiveness of the grape variety, with tones of red fruit supported by delicate tannins; freshness and body on the palate are accompanied by fruity reminiscences. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine.Conselvano PGI Rosé, alone or with specification of grape variety, is pink in colour; it displays delicate traces of fresh fruit and aromatic herbs on the nose; it is dry, harmonious and fresh on the palate. It can also be a Semi-Sparkling wine.
Grape variety specifications
The Conselvano PGI, with the specification of one of the grape varieties suitable for cultivation in Province of Padua, is reserved for wines produced from grapes originating from vineyard compounds, in a business environment, for at least 85% of the corresponding grape variety. Grapes similar in colour and originating from other varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%, can contribute, pure or combined, to the production of the above-mentioned musts and wines. In the preparation of Cabernet wine, grapes from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère grape varieties may be used, singularly or combined. Conselvano PGI wines with the specification of one or two of the grape varieties may also be produced as Semi-Sparkling; wines deriving exclusively from red grape varieties can also be produced as Novello. Conselvano PGI wines with specification of grape variety must display the organoleptic properties of the grape variety, as well as the indicated characteristics for the typology of wine.
