Description of product typologies
Colli Romagna Centrale PDO Bianco is straw-yellow in colour; the nose is intense, delicate and fruity; it is dry, sapid and harmonious on the palate. Colli Romagna Centrale PDO Rosso is intense ruby-red in colour; the nose displays a pleasantly grassy fragrance; it is dry and full-bodied on the palate, slightly tannic at times. It may display Riserva on the label if it has undergone a minimum aging period of 24 months, also in wooden recipients.
Grape variety specifications
The Colli Romagna Centrale PDO may display the specifications of the following grape varieties.From white grape varieties: 100% Chardonnay (incl. Riserva), min. 85%; Trebbiano: from Trebbiano Romagnolo, pure or with the addition of non-aromatic white grape berries suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. From the red grape variety: 100% Sangiovese (incl. Riserva), min. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, pure or with the addition of red grape berries suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%.The characteristics of the colour, fragrances and flavour of each specification are those typical of the grape variety and terroir of origin.Colli Romagna Centrale PDO Sangiovese and Colli Romagna Centrale PDO Cabernet Sauvignon qualify as Riserva wines if they have undergone a minimum aging period of 24 months, also in wooden recipients. Colli Romagna Centrale PDO Chardonnay may display Riserva on the label if the wine has undergone a minimum aging period of 15 months, also in wooden recipients.
