The production area of Colli della Sabina PDO is within the territory of numerous municipalities in the Provinces of Rome and Rieti, in the Lazio region.
Blends
White: min. 50% Malvasia del Lazio, 5%-35% Trebbiano Toscano and/or Giallo, pure or with the addition of grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 15%. Red: 40%-70% Sangiovese, 15%-40% Montepulciano, pure or with the addition of grape berries similar in colour and originating from other grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the concerned area, max. 30%.
Description of product typologies
Colli della Sabina PDO Bianco is deep straw-yellow in colour; the nose is characterised by fragrances of broom, pear and bags of fresh mineral; it is lively and dynamic on the palate, with returns of sage and good persistence. Colli della Sabina PDO Rosso has a vivacious ruby-red colour; the nose is enhanced by hues of cassis, violet and eucalyptus; the tones of the nose return on the palate with a warm and embracing structure. The vinification and bottling of Colli della Sabina PDO wines must take place within the production area.
